attacks John McCain for being too much like Theodore Roosevelt in foreign policy, and not enough of a religious crusader at home. To me, these sound like good reasons to vote for him. Could we be seeing in the various conservative assaults some brilliantly duplicitous strategy to get McCain elected in November? I doubt it, but the effect may be the same. As for the charge of Roosevelt as warmonger, I'd point out that T.R. as president was a
careful diplomat who deservedly won the
Nobel Peace Prize.
