About

I'm a New Jersey-based journalist with interests including history, science, politics and math. I'm a frequent contributor to Splice Today and a regular freelance copy editor/fact checker for Scientific American. My writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, Scientific American, Reason, the Daily Beast, City Journal, Skeptical Inquirer and other publications. My articles at Research, a magazine for financial advisors, twice won the Excellence in Financial Journalism Award from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).

In DeWitt's Footsteps is my book about the Erie Canal and DeWitt Clinton, which ties together history, family history, travel descriptions and photographs of the canal's modern and historic routes.

Note: Currently, this website is updated only intermittently. This is my personal blog and has no affiliation with any past, present or future employer.
